Flemington – For many families and their friends in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area, the CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot 5K run and 2M walk has become a beloved holiday tradition. Celebrating its 24th anniversary, the Turkey Trot is the largest event of its kind in the region. Sign up for some holiday fun and join over 6,000 runners and walkers on Thanksgiving morning to work up a holiday appetite in support of CEA. Many participants get into the spirit by dressing in fun and festive costumes. CEA and all event sponsors welcome everyone to join in on the excitement of this event, voted Best Fundraiser by Hunterdon Happenings. CEA (the Center for Educational Advancement), has been facilitating career pathways and community employment for people with disabilities since 1970. Proceeds from the Turkey Trot provide much needed funding for these programs.
Online registration for this NJ Thanksgiving tradition is now open at runsignup.com/CEATurkeyTrot. By registering online, participants save $5 over paper registration.
The USA-TF certified and sanctioned Turkey Trot 5K run begins at 9:30am on Thanksgiving morning. The Fitness Walk will start after the runners clear the starting line (about 9:40am) and, in response to popular demand, has been extended to be a two-mile course. The Walk, a non-competitive event, is perfect for those who want to show their support for CEA and “walk up” an appetite in a low impact way with friends and family members.
CEA also welcomes volunteers to help bring this grand event together. For more information about volunteer opportunities for you, your family or your group, please contact Eddie at firstname.lastname@example.org or call CEA at 908-782-1480, ext 239.
